Care & Use Guide

Pressure Cookers

General
  • The stainless-steel-reinforced triple-layer non-stick surface is suitable for oil-free cooking and supports a healthier diet.
  • Porcelain enamel, special enamel and a triple-layer non-stick coating over the steel body spread the heat evenly for better-tasting results.
  • Cooking on a low flame saves energy.
  • Suitable for every type of cooking surface.
  • Stainless steel wire handles are oven safe.
  • The vented glass lid adds visual appeal and lets you watch your food as it cooks.
  • Metal spatulas may be used without scratching the surface.
  • The vivid colours and patterns never fade.
  • The porcelain enamel exterior will not darken or stain.
  • Dishwasher safe.
  • For non-stick items, wiping the interior with a little oil on kitchen paper before each use is very important for the product's life, since the cleaning salts and detergents used in washing degrade the non-stick property of the interior.
  • For enamel items, wetting the interior before each use is very important for the product's life. It stops animal-based foods from sticking to the enamel while cooking: milk and meat, for example, can stick and scorch on an unwetted enamel surface.
Pressure Cookers
  • Before first use, half-fill the product with water and boil for about a minute. Pour the boiled water away and rinse with clean water.
  • The lid closes and locks with a light click, and the pressure system engages. Do not leave the product on a lit burner without oil or liquid inside. A little oil or a little water is enough to cook food well.
  • Turn the burner off once the food is cooked. The heat inside will begin to dissipate, leaving a slight pressure that draws a light vacuum on the lid. Touch the valve on top of the lid gently and this pressure will release with a hiss, after which the lid opens easily.
  • Do not keep opening the lid: letting the steam escape prevents the food from cooking.
  • Set the burner to its highest setting to start. Once cooking has begun, turn it to the lowest. With the lid closed, the retained heat is enough to cook the food through.
  • You may use a metal spatula if needed. To extend the product's life, prefer a plastic or wooden spoon.
  • Dishwasher safe.
